tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-86067656377301149102011-08-02T11:42:53.489-07:00First Christian Churchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04359612815115292028noreply@blogger.comBlogger31100tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8606765637730114910.post-70002313959399867432010-02-09T17:17:00.000-08:002010-02-09T17:42:14.403-08:00<strong>Hebrew 12:1 </strong><em>"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."</em><br /><em></em><br /><strong><em>PERSEVERANCE- patient endurance of hardship; persisting in a state of difficulties and discouragement.</em></strong><br /><strong><em></em></strong><br />There are several points to look at in this passage, but the two important ones in my own personal testimony are:<br /><strong>1. </strong>God has a particular race, a unique plan, for each of us.<br /><strong>2. </strong>We need to be willing to get rid of all the unnecessary baggage, the past failures, in our lives that keep us stuck.<br /><br />Some of you, like myself, may have been hurt deeply by a friend or loved one; may be bound by guilt; may be confused; may feel helpless; may feel like no one understands you; may feel anxious, worried, and afraid. <strong>THERE IS HOPE.....</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />We need to do as <strong>Isaiah 43:18</strong> tells us: <em>"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past."</em><br /><em></em><br />We can all learn from our past, offer forgiveness, make amends, and then release it. Seems to me, and this is a personal note, that sometimes us Christians are a bit cold in our relationships.
